Use of cookies
Edition of 18 October 2026
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. The Site also uses browser storage (localStorage) for your settings. Here is exactly what and why.
1. Necessary
Sign-in and forms don't work without them, so they can't be turned off.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| sietch_s | session: remembers that you signed in with Steam | until sign-out or session end |
| XSRF-TOKEN | protects forms from forged requests | session |
| sietch_cc | your choice in the cookie notice | 1 year |
2. Settings in your browser
localStorage keeps conveniences: enabled map layers, builds and loadouts, the selected storm region, the base planner state. This data never goes to the server and is removed together with the site's data in your browser.
3. Statistics
Yandex Metrica and Google Analytics help us understand which pages are useful. They set their own cookies (for example _ym_uid, _ga) and collect anonymised visit statistics. Metrica may record on-page actions (Webvisor) to improve usability.
You can opt out with "No analytics" in the notice at the bottom of the page: after that the counters are not loaded on the Site. To see the notice again, clear the site's cookies in your browser.
4. Third-party players
Videos added by link (YouTube, VK Video, RuTube) first appear as a picture. The player and its cookies load only when you click the video. YouTube runs in its reduced-cookie mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
5. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the necessary cookies, signing in to the Site won't work.
