Privacy policy
Edition of 18 October 2026
This policy explains what data sietch.ru (the "Site") collects, why, and how it is handled. We collect the minimum the Site needs and never sell data.
1. What we receive
If you sign in with Steam
- From Steam: your Steam identifier (SteamID), public name and avatar. The Site never receives your Steam password: sign-in happens on Steam's side.
- Hours in Dune: Awakening from Steam, only if "Game details" are public in your Steam privacy settings. The Site shows them rounded ("500+ h"). You can hide them in your settings.
- What you enter yourself: display name, "About", faction, region, world, pinned post.
- Your content and actions: uploaded photos and videos, video links, titles, descriptions, tags, comments, likes and dislikes, reports, support chat messages and images.
If you write through the Contacts form without signing in
- Name, email address, message text and the page you write from.
From every visitor
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, request times and pages opened. They go to server logs and are used to protect the Site and find errors.
- Cookies and browser storage — see the Cookies page.
- Visit statistics through Yandex Metrica and Google Analytics, unless you declined them in the cookie notice.
2. Why
- to let you sign in, upload content, comment and keep a profile;
- to show your profile, rank, regalia and posts to other users;
- to answer support requests and messages;
- to moderate content, fight spam and abuse, and protect the Site from attacks;
- to understand which sections are useful and improve the Site.
3. What others see
Public: display name, avatar, profile (rank, regalia, "About", faction, region, world, hours played unless hidden), published content and comments. SteamID, IP address, email and support messages are visible to no one but the Administration.
4. Who receives data
We do not sell or share data with third parties, except the services the Site cannot work without:
- Steam (Valve) — sign-in and public profile data and hours played;
- hosting and attack protection — the servers that run the Site and store files, and the DDoS protection service traffic passes through;
- Yandex Metrica and Google Analytics — visit statistics, unless you turned them off;
- YouTube, VK Video, RuTube — their player loads only when you click a video added by link; from then on their rules apply.
Data may be disclosed where the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
- account data and content — while the account exists;
- server logs — for a limited time, usually no more than a few weeks;
- backups — until they are routinely replaced.
6. Your rights
- Delete your account: in settings, "Delete my data". Your profile, posts, votes, comments and support chat are deleted.
- Change or hide data: name, "About" and other profile fields, hours played — in settings.
- Opt out of statistics: with "No analytics" in the cookie notice.
- Ask a question or request deletion another way: through Contacts.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures: connections are encrypted (HTTPS), uploaded images are checked and re-saved, access to the admin area is restricted. Nothing online is perfectly secure, so don't post anything you don't want to be public.
8. Changes
This policy may change. A new edition applies from its publication on this page; the edition date is shown at the top.
